Unfortunately, Lawrence and Lee's Auntie Mame would not go over well with today's audience IMO. Comden and Green did a remarkable job with their screenplay of the 1958 film version, which got rid of all the offensive, dismissive dialogue from the play. The film remains very funny, highly enjoyable, and quite entertaining.
