How sad! Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, who died in 2012, wrote so many amazing songs that are the soundtrack of our lives. ''Mary Poppins'' was their masterpiece with the Oscar-winning ''Chim Chim Cher-ee,'' plus ''A Spoonful of Sugar,'' ''Jolly Holiday,'' ''Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'' and ''Let's Go Fly a Kite.'' And I've always had a soft spot for ''Stay Awake,'' ''A Man Has Dreams'' and Walt Disney's own favorite, ''Feed the Birds.'' The Sherman brothers wrote lots of other things, too, but I have single out their songs to ''The Slipper and the Rose,'' their wonderful but woefully underrated 1976 Cinderella musical. I love ''He/She Danced With Me'' and ''Secret Kingdom.'' And finally, yes, I'm a big, big fan of ''It's a Small World (After All).''
