IMO the score for Over Here! should have been nominated over the one from The Good Doctor, which was a Neil Simon play with some songs. Every one of the Sherman brothers' musical numbers for the show is catchy and that overture (titled "The Beat Goes On") is a knockout. I love the OBC album and play it regularly even today.

When Over Here! opened on Broadway in 1974, the reviews were mostly good, and the show was selling a lot of tickets. Unfortunately, a salary dispute between the producers and the Andrews Sisters soured everything. According to Wikipedia, the show's closing was controversial, and there was never a tour. There are a lot of clips from the Broadway production on YouTube. There's also a TV clip (I believe) from the American Dance Machine featuring Donna McKechnie and Wayne Cilento recreating "Charlie's Place".

There were a couple of rumors over the years about possible revivals with either Dick Van Dyke or McKechnie, but neither materialized. I've never been able to see a stage performance of the show. I wish Encores would do it some day.
