I'm not sure what you're seeing, but when has she actually "shown contrition and has vowed to change"? ... and what more can she do? Lots. This is not the campaign trail of contrition you're making it out to be.

It was very unlikely she was going to win Best Actress before any of this came up, or played out as it has.
But the movie itself seems almost only loved to any notable extent by awards nominators. I haven't heard such bad word of mouth about a movie in a long time (and I don't mean from non-allies who might automatically want to see it buried).

And what makes you think this trans woman of color was canceled?

Also, very few people get canceled in any true and consistent way, it's far too early to see the impact on her career.. it's not as if she's had her nomination taken away (though there was talk of that for breaking the nominee rules, before any of these tweets came out)...

One of the only people I can think of who got actual canceled was Kathy Griffen, whose cancelation was extremely swift and harsh and impactful, and she is neither trans nor poc. If anything, I've talked to a lot of people who who have *happily and swiftly* "canceled" anyone else who wrote those *recent and old* tweets, but because she's a trans woman of color they are giving it a pass. It sounds like you might be one of them, especially since you're not even interested in reading the statements/tweets in question, or thoroughly seeing her "apologies" before you condemn her condemnation. Right wingers would have the opposite to say about who gets canceled or supported, and a post like this is just playing into their expectations of the left. Just saying. :)
