An open letter to the League regarding security

Can we please end the performative security measures on Broadway? I, as a theater-goer, don't feel any safer for them (especially because the rest of New York is totally exposed, so why should we think that any terrorist act will forego the subway or Times Square itself in favor a Broadway theater? It's absurd). And they cost a bundle in staffing, they create ridiculously long lines at the theaters, making arriving highly unpleasant and exponentially worse in bad weather, and they subject theater-goers to security personnel who, like the TSA employees, are frequently rude. They cost us far more than they provide by way of safety. Can we please get rid of them?
