Everything has gone up in the last few years due to worldwide inflation (not just US). Maybe attendance dropped a bit since Covid but there is a lot of stuff being produced. Last year had 36 productions opened the year before was 37. 18/19 season had 36. That’s not a dying industry. And I’m not seeing a lot of discount codes for many shows. Definitely pricing has changed with multiple price points in orchestra instead of 2. But ticket costs are mostly show related and not security.
If you don’t want your bag checked, don’t bring one. At least they stopped taking water bottles. |
