Maybe the reason why a theater hasn’t been attacked is because of the security measures making other targets more desirable. I don’t think 1 minute of my time is much to ask for a security check. I feel safer even if it is a false sense of security.
Maybe a year after 9/11, I was at the sf opera house for the ballet and the guy next to me did not return for the second piece. He left his brief case and I could only think about it sitting there. During the second intermission I told an usher and he removed it. The guy came back and was pissed that I did that. I basically told him he was an asshole for doing that. If we had gone through security check I probably would not have been concerned. But the guys an asshole for doing that. |
