| Company...takes us through a few days leading up to Bobbie's "surprise" birthday party. (Though I have a theory that the show actually all takes place inside Bobbie's head and she considers her options.) Patrick - your theory is exactly what the authors had in mind (and that's been documented). I've actually never gotten the sense that the show takes place over a few days, not even in this production - it starts with the birthday party and ends in the same moment. (And of course it's also the end of Act I and the beginning of Act II.) |
