| Just a bit of irony here. I will say I am not judging the cancellation at all - speaking as someone who dealt with a rather serious unexpected respiratory illness this fall (I had walking pneumonia, and although I'm essentially recovered and back to normal life, the cough still hangs on) these things happen and if the decision is made to cancel, I respect that. However, the show itself deals in its own way with "the show must go on." When June runs off, Rose hardly misses a beat before she's singing about everything coming up roses as she pushes Louise into the spotlight, for better or worse. Again, I'm not intimating that the production made the wrong decision here - but given the show itself, it's rather ironic, isn't it? ;-) That said, I'm hoping Audra (and anyone else in the company who has been ill) a speedy recovery. No one wants to be sick, Broadway show or not. |
