I guess I was a little weirded out from watching yesterday Rod Serling's "Twilight Zone"-ish 1964 tv movie, "Carol for Another Christmas" directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, which really is a cautionary tale, with Ghost of Christmas Future having a totally selfish leader played by Peter Sellers extolling a fight to the finish with one survivor. Great cast with Sterling Hayden, Ben Gazzara, Pat Hingle, Robert Shaw, Eva Marie Saint and an excellent Steve Lawrence (around the time of "What Makes Sammy Run?"). Still relevant unfortunately, but damn, I probably should have stuck with "Meet Me in St. Louis", "Miracle on 34th Street" or "Christmas in Connecticut"! | |
