Thoughts on Carole Rothman and the NYT piece?

Wondering what folks' impressions of Carole Rothman's exit interview in the Times are like?

I've seen a smattering of shows at Second Stage over the years and generally liked them. I've never known anything about her other than her name, so I can't say I have opinions. But she comes off- to me- pretty unpleasant. The way she describes the founding of the theatre sounds like its main M.O. was to provide her with work (wouldn't be the first company to start like that). Am I right in assuming she had a lot of personal wealth to (seemingly) found a theatre while raising small children on her own?

She talks about "defining" the theatre as "no Brits, no Chekhov, no classics" (I worry about defining a theatre by what it's NOT), but I've always found the programming to be pretty vague.

And her response to the question about the exceptionally long tenures of herself and other AD's like Haimes and Bishop was pretty nakedly defensive. It sounded to me like really did view Second Stage as HER theatre and that it was being stolen out from under her.

I'm interested in other peoples' takes on her.
