| How wonderful that someone is reviving Pipe Dream. I love its score and quiet charms. I've always had the impression that Steinbeck in his novels and Rodgers and Hammerstein in their adaptation of them all wanted to lighten up from the more dramatic material they were known for. To my ears they succeeded, but I'll take slight charms over bombast any day of the week. Especially on a sweet Thursday. | |
