Compared to R&H's 4 blockbuster hits that preceded it, Me and Juliet was undoubtedly a disappointment, but it did run just a month or so less than a year with 358 performances, which was respectable for a mid-50's musical. It also recouped its investment and made a small profit.
Of R&H's 9 Broadway musicals, 7 were commercial hits, and only Allegro and Pipe Dream failed to recoup their investment. |
