First it is a supporting role. Second he was up against Mako (Pacific Overtures) and Jerry Orbach (Chicago) as well as his co-star Ian Richardson as Henry Higgins. Odd Tony year. With Donna McKecnie's disputed placement in lead you ended up with arguably two featured performers winning the lead awards. |
