Let's not forgot Tammy Grimes who won for Best Featured Actress in a Musical even though she was barely, if ever, off stage. But, she was billed below the title. As a reward for winning, the producers, The Theatre Guild and Dory Schary, put her above the title the day after the Tonys A nice reward but too late. Her competition would have been Elizabeth Seal (who won), Julie Andrews, Carol Channing and Nancy Walker. Would she have won? I think so. Her competition in her winning category were Nancy Dussault and Chita Rivera.
