Ed Dixon created a brilliant, Drama-Desk award winning one man show about the life of George Rose. He gave you a sense of how remarkable Rose was as a showman. Remarkable.
I saw him play the GRAVEDIGGER to Burton’s HAMLET. Burton was peerlessly magnetic but Rose was like a clown had dropped out of heaven from the clouds. Carol Channing also had something of that magic. Magicmagicmagicmagic. So grateful when I get to see it. |
