In Praise of James Morgan

I don’t know about you, but I have thoroughly enjoyed all the productions. I have seen at the York Theatre over the last 27 years..
James Morgan was one of the founding members and certainly you could tell from the beginning of each performance how much he cared about the York Theatre and about how much he was instrumental in seeing that it was successful.

I know that Gerry McIntyre is a very good actor, but what has he done to ensure this success of the York Theatre and why did he find the need to criticize a man who only sought to bring the best actors to good plays. I saw the recent production of.Inundated And it was criticized for non-diversity for a cast of two. Perhaps Mia Farrow should have dumped Patti LuPone for Audra McDonald. on television last week there was a special whose main theme was that Latinos make up 20% of the population, but they only have 5% of the roles is because a segment of the population who cry for diversity really only mean employing more black actors. I really feel sorry for Latin actors because they are not given a chance, but that is probably because they are not militant about seeking roles for themselves. if there was true diversity, there would be more Latin actors on stage, than black actors. I challenge someone to count the number of black actors versus the number of Latin actors currently working on Broadway.

I was deeply saddened that Mr. Morgan wrote such a mea culpa letter. He has nothing to apologize for..

Mr. Morgan I missed you at the performance yesterday and I want to thank you for all the pleasurable times in the theater you have provided us. Hold your head up high and God bless you.
