| I agree. I don't think Holliday would have had any trouble singing Rose's songs in a film. As you say, it's not actually that rangy. What makes it tough is that she sings so much, and so often (although, as yo note, not always) has to really belt it out there. And keys can always be adjusted, as they were for Lansbury, Daly, Russell/Kirk (most extremely) and even Merman herself when she came back to the show after a blood vessel in her throat hemorraghed in August 1959. | |
