| I knew "After the Ball" because it was included in Show Boat. But today I learned the song was not written by Jerome Kern, who wrote much of the rest of the music in Show Boat, but rather was written years earlier by a composer named Charles K. Harris. I've linked a video below where you can listen to the song which is in a 3/4 meter. Do you know what that makes this song? |
