A few more classical references and/or uses -

Rustles Of Spring - Ethel's onstage piano solo in The Music Man

The quotes from Madame Butterfly, Swan Lake, and Carmen in "It's An Art" from Working

The Moonlight Sonata as accompaniment for the song "Schroeder" (sung by Lucy - confusing, lol??) in Charlie Brown. Also a later bit of underscoring using the Pathetique Sonata. Lippa, of course, then added "Beethoven Day" to the revival.

The use of the Grieg Piano Concerto as the love theme in "Rosemary" from How To Succeed. (According to Steven Suskin, this was originally played by the concertmaster, given that there was no dedicated pianist in the pit.) Sondheim would also use this theme at the top of "Make The Most Of Your Music" - Ben's new song in the 1987 London Follies.

To Tom Kitt's credit, I don't believe that the piano solo Natalie plays at the top of "Everything Else" (Next To Normal) is actual Mozart - I think that's his own pastiche.
