| I’m a big admirer of Sara Holdren’s work but I found this review excessively mean. I saw Empire at least a dozen years ago out of town. It was undistinguished, cliched and unmemorable. A couple of paragraphs would have sufficed. But this endless broadside at a harmless off Broadway production was beneath her. She is an artist herself (a director) and has displayed no empathy for all involved. |
