If Hell’s Kitchen won best musical it would be a second juke box. However, ain’t misbehavin’ was a juke box musical that won in 1978. It was a compilation of old songs that I don’t think were written for the stage but clearly not written for the show.
Also, crazy for you might be considered jukebox. It was a rework of girl crazy I think—not sure and used songs from Gershwin catalog. The score definitely was not eligible for tony award. |
