Good point! Definitely Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre) or David Yakbek (The Full Monty) over Mel Brooks. Probably Polly Bergen (Follies) or Kathleen Freeman (The Full Monty) over Cady Huffman. Possibly Larry Hochman (A Class Act) over Doug Besterman -- YMMV on this one, I'm just a fan who knows what he likes and decidedly not musically literate.
So what's the real story on Marge Champion and Victor/Victoria? Did it have something specific to do with Blake Edwards? I was told a lot of gossip way back when but it can be hard to separate fact from fiction. |
