Dude. Jeez. I'm not saying you can't have your opinion, or that it's wrong. I was saying I think you're in a minority there. You also did express it like it was a given, but I get that is how opinions work.

I think there's a lot to love in Gordan's Jane Eyre score. And it got nominated. I'd say getting nominated means you're now ineligible for the discussion of being snubbed. It got nominated for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, Best Lead Actress... I'd say the Tonys thought of Jane Eyre well. I was just boosting Seussical, which, like Jane Eyre, wasn't a big hit and wasn't raved about from critics, and it was shut out of the Tonys, unlike Jane Eyre.

I usually hate when a juggernaut blockbuster musical sweeps the awards. The Producers is one. Hamilton is another. Hamilton was amazing... but in my opinion Lin shouldn't have been nominated for Lead Actor, Shuffle Along should have been nominated for more acting Tonys, and Savion Glover 1000% should have won Best Choreography over Hamilton, and George C Wolfe should have won Best Direction over Kail. American Pyscho should have been nominated for Best Musical (over Bright Star, easily), Best Score (over Bright Star or School of Rock), Best Book (same), and Best Lead Actor (instead of Lin). Maybe I'd even swap out Scott Ellis's Direction nom for She Loves Me in favor of Rufus Norris for American Psycho.
Hamilton's sweep should not have included Best Lighting which it also didn't deserve, should have been American Psycho actually, or Shuffle Along or Spring Awakening, all the nominees deserved Lighting more than Hamilton. All the nominated directors deserved it more than Kail too. Costumes also, should have gone to Shuffle Along over Hamilton. How refreshing that Hamilton lost for Scenic Design at least. I also probably would have given Featured Actress to Adrienne Warren, despite that Goldsberry was incredible too, and I'd have given Featured actor to Brandon Victor Dixon over Diggs, despite how undeniably fantastic Diggs was. Hamilton absolutely deserved Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actor... I think its other many wins are not how I'd have done it. But the momentum was unreal, and a sweep was inevitable, unfortunately.

Maybe A Chorus Line is the only show that swept the Tonys that I felt was deserved (and it didn't even really sweep, it lost all the design awards and several acting)... but I am always torn... going against Chicago AND Pacific Overtures, 3 of the most iconic, most brilliantly written musicals and brilliantly produced and directed musicals Broadway's ever had... and only 1 got to win most of the awards, that's unfortunately. None of ACL's win were undeserved, but I would probably have given Best Score to Sondheim for PO, and McKechnie would have won in Featured Actress and Chita and Gwen would have tied for Lead, and likely if Hal didn't already have 4 Tonys for Best Direction, I might have given it to him for PO and Bennett would get Choreo and Best Musical.
Oh and Sweeney Todd's sweep was absolutely right, but it was a very weak year for competition.
I'm sure there are others but i'd been on Wiki enough for now.
