| I had some reservations, but they are to the overall staging. In one respect. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS: SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS In the Beggar Woman revelation scene, in the original production, I remember some blocking near the end for her which aped an early scene in the play so that the audience knew her past history BEFORE it was revealed to Sweeney. And that moment of revelation was chilling precisely because the audience knew it before the characters did. In this production, at least in today’s show, that didn’t happen. And I find it lacking. Was some choreography just too vague during that flashback in this production? |
