A great moment! And of course later, in the NY Philharmonic staging, a short song was added in this spot, where the Beggar Woman sings to the baby in her arms, to the tune of Poor Thing and the music from the act 1 flashback. Which, perhaps needlessly?, over indicates who she really is. I cannot recall if this snippet was written for the original and cut before the show as frozen, or written later. | |
