I'm alarmed at the speed of the snowball cancellation effect.” You should read her statements then. Though I get where people are coming from who say the backlash has gone too far, the truth is her follow-up posts and interviews all come across less like genuine apologies than defensive flailing. Her explanations ring hollow, and the initial posts (of which there were MANY) are plentiful, stomach-churning, and seemingly without filter, so whether or not she actually holds those views, I’m inclined to take her at her word back then, rather than accept a mealy-mouthed mea culpa that she only offered up this month because she’s suddenly in the running for an award. And as long as you brought Trump up by way of comparison and analogy, you might find this worth a read. |
