| In the end, Karla is a very talented actress, her performance in Emilia was extraordinary. It's disappointing that she used her celebrity to spread her hateful speech, and she's suffering the consequences big time. The fact that she's a trans woman of color shouldn't be an issue, but it is. Her gender identity specifically is going to add to the amount of retribution experiencing as she, in my opinion, snowballs to being canceled. Again, we've got white rich men who have committed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of fraud, and rape for instance and are accused of mountains of other crimes. I'm speaking of: THE ONE WHO'S NAME I WON'T WRITE, Rick Scott, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, to name a few. Not only were most of them re elected, their wealth has grown. I'm being an idealist bleeding heart pie in the sky liberal when I say, let justice be served for everyone, not just those that can buy their way out of jail time. I want to say that I value everyone's contribution to this post and I thank you. This platform of Talkin Broadway should be able to discuss not only live theater, but also film, music, television, dance, etc. Performing arts reflects real life, and that can lead into politics. Let's keep free associating speech alive while we still can in America. |
