| For completion’s sake, Wicked has also played in Helsinki (in Finnish) and in the Pragur (in Czech) in the past. It is opening in both Oslo (in Norwegian) and Warsaw (in Polish) within a few months. I expect it to open in quite a few more within the year due to the movie’s success. Madrid has a production set for later this year with a translation different than the one heard in Mexico. The movie (songs and all) have been translated for a ton of non-English markets as well. It seems to have had a slow burn in non-English markets, but the movie seems to have rekindled the flame. I’m not a die-hard Wicked fan (caught it for the first time ever just this last year on tour), but I’m glad to see it take flight around the world. |
