LOL. Funny story. Putting aside Met broadcasts, there are hundreds of broadcasts from Italy that are easily available, and I don't recall ever hearing of any on which encores are performed, although there probably are some.

Of course, as you said earlier, there are plenty of arias that are so difficult that I'm sure performers wouldn't want to have to sing them again. Which reminds me that it used to be said that Birgit Nilsson was the only soprano ever who you felt could immediately sing Elektra all over again at the end of the performance.
