| An Encores recording of Love Life would be nice since Baldwin and Christopher seem well cast as Susan and Sam Cooper. Until that happens, I really enjoy the recordings Ben Bagley and Alan J. Lerner (w/ Kaye Ballard and others) made of almost all of the songs from the show, performed by a variety of well-known Broadway artists. The 1996 BBC recording of the Opera North production is the entire show including dialogue and underscore. It's a bit of a chore to get through and the track listing in the liner notes doesn't match exactly what my CD player shows. I'm not familiar with any of the actors but their performances are fine. |
