| "Our Town" Casting |

| I know that performers "read" differently in regard to their actual ages while onstage, but the casting for the new "Our Town" revival seems to stretch credibility. High-school age Emily will be played by a 29 year old actress; George is 39. Emily's parents are 45 (Mrs) and 73 (Mr)! This is not to suggest the actors cast aren't talented, and "Our Town" is certainly not a realistic drama, but have we moved to an era of age-blind casting? |
