The question of whether any particular restaurant is "needed" is perhaps unanswerable. I think West Bank still serves a purpose, and having eaten there recently, I was impressed by the still-high level of service and the reasonable prices (how often do you see a good cheeseburger below $20 in Manhattan anymore?). Considering that I've found a lot of restaurants in the greater Times Square/Restaurant Row area overpriced and unmemorable, the quality and consistency stood out. Nothing lasts forever, sure, but if it does close in a few weeks, I'll be sad to see it go. |
