Is that they haven’t raised their prices enough to pay the bills. I got a pastrami sandwich at Grove (San Fran restaurant) last week that cost $25 plus tax and tip. That was about $17 before
Covid. I realize they have to raise prices for inflation. My salary increased 11% from 2020-2024 but inflation was 22% for the same period. It sucks, but that is the reality that restaurant have to raise prices by significant numbers to keep in business.

Also, I don’t think a high rise is above this restaurant. The neighborhood has improved a lot in the last decade. The land is probably worth more than the structures on it.
