Yes, Rex Harrison would have probably been ok with the vocal demands of "A Puzzlement" and the "Song of the King (Bee Song)" as the King in "The King & I". I guess he could have changed his vocal pitch to approximate the octave jumps of "Oh! Oh! I think that people sometimes going mad" from speaking to shouting and treating it otherwise like a patter in his speak-singing manner.

John Mills, who I saw in the Peter O'Toole-led "Pygamalion" as Alfred Doolittle, had a lovely singing voice, on display on the CD of "The Good Companions" as well as in a tv broadcast version of "Cats" as the old theater cat. Mills could have played Henry Higgins, Alfred or Pickering at various points in his career in "My Fair Lady" had he wanted to. O'Toole's voice, on the other hand, seemed pretty weak, even if he did do the musical films of "Goodbye Mr. Chips" and "Scrooge" and G-d help us, "Man of La Mancha".
