I was also in attendance Friday night and loved the concert. Our TDF seats were in Row L orchestra, center. Lovely seats! I was so relieved that the problems noted from Thursday night had been resolved, and the highlights just as good. Ruthie Ann Miles was in great voice and landed all the laughs. Ron Raines sounded wonderful and didn't mess up any lyrics. Kerstin Anderson was lovely as young virgin bride Anne, but she is one of the singers who could have enunciated a bit more last night. Susan Graham handled Send in the Clowns beautifully.

The tempos were fine and it was heartwarming to see Jonathan Tunick conducting. The audience gave him extended warm applause. For me the only off note was Marsha Mason's performance as Madame Armfeldt. I know this is a concert with minimal rehearsal time, and Mason's part is a major one. But I felt she was too much "on book," leaning on it extensively while speaking and singing. I found that distracting.

Overall it was a splendid evening, and it was heartening to see a cast of professionals get in gear after the snags of Thursday night and turn in a fine performance!
