I remember a story going around that they only had one day to rehearse that Company concert - the day of the opening. But I think that's wrong. It was just "Side By Side By Side" that didn't get rehearsed until that day. They had all learned the routine separately and didn't get to rehearse it together until the day of the show.
It's certainly a much more satisfying video performance than the Doyle thing. Though not everything worked as well as it could. Charming as it was to have Colbert in the show, he had real trouble keeping with the beat during "Sorry Grateful." And although I don't think Christina Hendricks was nearly as bad as the guy I saw playing "Andy" on the recent tour, I still think she was way too broad with the part. I really don't think April is stupid. |
