| If only Raines hadn’t gone up on the lyrics, it probably would have been ok. But he did, and the entire song was ruined. Don’t get me started on Marsha Mason, who mistakenly thought she was doing “The Royal Family”. Erivo’s timing was perfection and her “Miller’s Son” soared. Miles pretty much stole the show. Why has she not been announced for a new musical production? Any new musical production.Shuler Hensley was just wrong wrong wrong. Jin Ha did a thrilling “Silly People”. It was a pleasure to hear that rapturous score in that room, but yes, I noticed the tempo was off as soon as the overture began. It did get better as the evening went on. Now, if only someone could operate the lights properly. |
