While researching Dorothy Hart's book, there were few correspondences I observed. In fact, there's a letter in the book that Hart wrote to his good friend Mel Shauer, which he had to dictate to Dorothy Hart. I suspect he wasn't a frequent letter writer, but that doesn't mean he didn't correspond with certain people. I did get to meet Mel Shauer and other close friends of Hart's who all said the same thing: how he was a total delight and the life of the party when he was younger. I also spoke to Nanette Guilford, to whom he proposed. She felt Hart had been deeply in love with her (I can't judge if that meant sexually or just personally). - Michael Colby
