Held for cast members or famous people. Those aren’t released too early and might not really be in the producers control vs willing to lose money to sell at discount.
The rest of your post is a mystery of ticket buying. I compare it or the ball under the cup shell game. Keep your eye on it but you don’t really know where the tickets are being sold. And as rhog says, the rule is there are no rules. If you did the same analysis of another hit show like Hamilton, you might have similar results but with differences. Each show probably is run differently.
I really need aisle seat, so buy in advance and pay premium if not too high ($300 is my cut off). Occasionally I’ll wait closer to date to play the shell game. And there are shows I will miss like othello or Dorian gray, oh well. Covid changed my FOMO outlook on life especially theater. |
