Well, that's why "perfect" is in quotes.😁 As I said, they were only meant for myself, as a combination of most complete and best performances (according to me). I always used the first recordings as the spine, so to speak, then added to it. Alternates from later recordings, generally, were only used if they were more complete. New arrangements don't appear often, unless they are the only version available.
Re "Follies," it is well-known that the OBC recording was severely truncated, so I used other recordings to fill in the omissions. I might mention also that I included alternate and cut songs where they belonged, and that show had quite a few.
"Annie Get Your Gun" has two complete recordings (JAY and McGlinn) to work from, which made that one easier, but consequently more subjective.
