| There is currently a pneumonia variation making people ill throughout the nation. It’s hard to push through a performance when you can’t get a full breath. This comment written by someone who pushed through the symptoms and went to work…resulting in a lung infection. A drain being installed and two weeks in hospital. That was early November. Doctors said that my breathing should be back to normal in a few more weeks. Were I a ‘Broadway trooper’ who pushed through and performed, not missing a performance….who knows what long term damage I might have done to my health, and thus my career. I thought that I was a ‘dedicated worker’ who risked his health for…what exactly? In retrospect the word that I’d use to describe my actions? ‘Stupid’ comes to mind rather quickly. Mind you, I do not know the true reasons for these cancellations. Should it be that Audra is the one who is ill (please, no disrespect for my seeming lack of concern for others in the cast), we’ll, Audra is a national treasure and needs to be properly cared for! |
