I'm looking at two versions of the production script that Tams-Witmark and/or now Concord Thearicals would send out. (The 2nd one having revisions by Laurents for the LuPone revival.) Are you looking at a published version? Not sure that's so "official" as compared to the production scripts. But even in the published score, which has not changed since the original printing way back, there's a mention of "Mme. Rose's Toreadorables." With the E. Edit - yes, it seems the published version of the script (though not the score) has "madam." I'd still trust the production materials over that. |
