I was surprised to see this article on Playbill today claim that "this will mark the musical's first national tour" because not only does IBDB list a short national tour in 1964, but I discovered the show through a one night stop of a tour at the Grand Opera House in Oshkosh in 1998 or 1999. (My friend and I sang "That Man Over There Is Santa Clause" on repeat during the car ride home.) Now that may not have been a Equity tour (the name Troupe America sticks in my head for some reason) and they might technically mean the first national tour of the current version, etc., but I can't find anything about the tour I saw on the internet so I'm hoping someone here can help provide some other details, memories, etc. of this tour I saw. A shot in the dark, I know! | |
