41 actors. 12+ swings and understudies. 21 musicians.
And they'd have to have some major enhancement to the ugly, way too minimal set.
The cast is variable, etc etc.
It was great to hear RAGTIME - but the faults in the show were more obvious in this City Cennter Gala performance (not ENCORES)
Limited run would lose $15-16 million. Why would anyone do that?
The best thing about the recent RAGTIME and TITANIC is that the busy hands of the Encores regime didn't gut the book and create a new show. |
