| Very well said. I also wonder if the temptations of the 70s were too much for her and perhaps she didn't have the insane ambition to be a movie star that Streisand had. The pressure on woman in Hollywood is immense to look a certain way and Liza was an odd duck. And like you said Barbra filled the kooky ethnic spot. That said, she'll always have Cabaret and how many stars have a signature role as great as that. She was absolute perfection and I think would be very hard for her to top that. I also thought she was great in New York, New York but I guess many did not. Liza's a very complicated lady with many problems and she sort of became a bit of figure of ridicule Which is too bad |
