Looking at Wikipedia, Cabaret was released in February 1972, and she won the Oscar in March 1973. Between those two events, she released an album ("The Singer") earlier that March, and "Liza with a Z" was recorded in May 1972 and shown for the first time in September 1972. After she won the Oscar, it looks like she did a series of concerts in Jan 1974 but didn't otherwise appear on Broadway or on TV for many years. Her next film, Lucky Lady, did not start filming until January 1975 and was released on Christmas Day 1975. So I think PlayWiz is right that she didn't capitalize on the Oscar win in the way that she could have.

It looks like she got top billing on her three immediate post-Cabaret films, which were Lucky Lady, A Matter of Time, and New York, New York, all of which were box office disappointments. And that was that in terms of mainstream success for the most part outside of Broadway and concerts, except for some attention for Arthur. It looks like there was plenty of hope for her bankability at that time -- she got top billing over Burt Reynolds, Gene Hackman, Ingrid Bergman, and Robert De Niro in those films.
