Dynamic pricing seems to be happening. Top ticket now $721 for some performances, with seat 11 in the orchestra now going for $521 (which is truly insane - that might not be a completely full-view seat. If this production isn't staged pretty centrally, I feel bad for the staff in the box office).
I didn't think I'd be nostalgic for the Music Man pre-sale just a few years ago, where I could not believe I was paying $249 but that seat is now $721 in this pre-sale. I paid $216 today for a seat that is going for $100 more already at some performances, and the tickets have only been on sale for 90 minutes.
The cheapest seats are also getting a price hike, up to $155. It would have been nice if they kept the cheapest seats at $135, but I guess not. |
