TBH I hope it doesn't - at least for a good long while. If it does now, it will feel like we are now into a new continuing fad of reimagining ALW's musicals. I'd rather see Cats stand as something unique instead of being followed by a lot of copy-cats. (Pun intended.)
And - I agree with you that it might be much trickier to take the literal setting out of Starlight anyway.
