Yes, that's right and you raise an interesting theory. She married at 18 (16 in her autobio but in real life 18) and her husband was very abusive to her during her pregnancy and afterwards. She left singing in order to return home with her infant son but eventually was talked into going back on the road while leaving her son with her mother, so it makes sense that she might have had some kind of PTSD regarding that. She also hated flying and she flew a lot with Bob Hope in the late 1940s (right around the time she started her film career) which might also have contributed to negative associations about performing live. From what I've read, she loved the regular hours that filming as a WB contract actress provided her.
